Tough Mudder Sydney
Tough Mudder Sydney Autumn, which took place at the Fernhill Estate, Mulgoa, was the chance to complete an 18-20km course of obstacles with charming names such as the Mud Mile, Electroshock Therapy, Log Bog Jog and Arctic Enema, to name a few (that’s right, only a few).
Missed out (not on purpose)? Don’t worry, there’s another one coming up in October, Tough Mudder Sydney Spring.
The course was designed by the British Special Forces – we think mainly to laugh at us mere mortals of weakling proportions – but they claim it’s to test you physically, mentally and most importantly, how you help out other competitors, teammates or not! You’ve been warned – this is not any regular marathon, triathlon or obstacle course.
Sure, the tickle of 10,000 volts of electricity surging through our bodies sounds tempting, even the allure of fire and ice-water nearly got us… but despite the promise of having a great time and a ‘true sense of accomplishment‘, what we REALLY like the sound of is the Post Party & Awards over the finish line… free beer anyone?
We know Urbanites are cut from the same cloth as Arnie, Lara Croft and Katniss – always appropriately stylish, endlessly determined and TOUGH. Therefore, if you’re an Urbanite, you can be a Tough Mudder! And if crawling through those claustrophobic underground mud tunnels didn’t seduce you, then perhaps like those who designed the course, you’d prefer to laugh from the sidelines and volunteer instead!
